Duke Health Center at Southpoint

Everyone is polite but the lady who does the MRI can not ever get the needle in my vein the last time it took her 3 different times this time she missed it again and had to get another nurse in there to do it. All of my doctor visits they always tell me I have good veins. I also had to tell them how to do my MRI after having so many. I’m not planning on ever returning here again

The doctors here are absolutely fabulous. They get 5 stars. Unfortunately deceptive billing prevented me from being able to get a much needed echocardiogram. I got burned once and learned my lesson years ago, however it seems the problem still exists. Instead of billing it all as one specialist visit they code echoes as hospital visits. When asked what the out of pocket cost would be to me ZERO effort was made to give an honest answer. How can I make an informed decision without all the facts? What’s so hard about telling a patient based on your insurance your cost will be $xxx ? More effort needs to be made especially in these trying times.

Wasn’t busy at all. Arrived before my appointment, took over 50 minutes after my actual appointment time, and multiple times asking to get a simple MRI. 4 people got called back, and left, before they even gave me an estimated time they’d call me to the back. Waste of time, I have other things to do during a weekday.

WARNING - Deceptive Billing Practices! Be advised, although this building looks and operates like a normal clinic and has an unsuspecting-sounding name, there is a good chance your visit will be treated as a hospital visit, and you will be charged accordingly. I was scheduled for a routine, non-invasive imaging procedure at this visit. I was in and out in 45 minutes. Although I had a similar procedure done elsewhere covered by my specialist co-pay, at this clinic it was billed as hospital services and the bill was over 20x more expensive. I was not told ahead of time that the procedure could be billed differently nor that visits would be coded as a hospital visit instead of an ordinary specialist visit. Very nice staff. Ariana (the tech doing my ultrasound) was very patient and kept me at ease the entire time even though I was clearly nervous. Highly recommend!
