I wish I could give them less than one star. This place is awful. I started going to Duke dermatology at Duke University. I transfered to the Southpoint location to follow my doctor. I have experienced a few excisions and one bout with melanoma. I had to have skin checks bi-annually. Every time I’ve had a visit I’ve scheduled my next visit before I left the office. There has not been an appointment where I did not receive a letter saying I needed to reschedule and when you do, it is not in a timely manner. Before covid the care provided was adequate. I had a scheduled appointment during Covid, it was canceled. After Covid, I tried getting an appointment and because of the lapse in time due to Covid I was told that I would have to start over with a new doctor. I did this. Since Covid th

This place is so frustrating and not worth the wait. After awaiting 5 months for my initial appointment, I was prescribed medication. I saw a couple doctors here and they were helpful during my appointments. However I recently started having what I thought was an allergic reaction to a medication. I have tried calling and leaving messages for doctors here with no luck, so I messaged 2 different doctors on the app. I tried scheduling an immediate appointment but they said I’d have to wait until December. One doctor left me a voicemail 4 days later, to call about the reaction, but just said sorry I missed you and nothing else. I tried to call him back but the office said I was not allowed to speak with my doctor??? They said they could get him a message but I wasn’t allowed to talk to him??

One of the worst experiences with Duke doctors over the period of 3-5 years. You don’t feel seen by the doctors and after multiple treatments, multiple different medications my problem was finally referred to podiatry. Go to a different clinic.

I give Duke Dermatology two stars because when I've managed to see a doctor there, I have received good care. However, trying to make an appointment there is a demoralizing experience. It doesn't matter if you express up front that you are having an urgent medical issue and are hoping to see someone within the next few days. They will go through a long list of questions to collect your information, only to announce at the end that no appointments whatsoever are available for around 6 months. This has happened to me more than once. Why not tell callers with urgent needs up front that nothing is available there? It makes me feel like the office just doesn't care. There are other dermatology practices in the area that offer good care as well as a much better scheduling experience, both in ter

Like many of Duke facilities this one is no different. I feel this place has a lack of care for black men. I was 45 minutes early which is ok but I had to wait another 30 pass my appointment time before anybody came to say anything. When the young lady did come she claimed the Doctor had an issue with a biopsy well a skin biopsy is not hard to do or take an hour to do. My question hao many patients did she see before I am came , and while I was waiting. It feels like Duke has respect for blacken healthcare and lack over sight to make sure treatment is being done. Also, this type of behavior is neglect, and patient abuse. Again management should be replaced because I am sure no white person is treated this way.
