Duane Reade by Walgreens Pharmacy

Extremely disappointed with the Walgreens on 1st Ave & 57th St, NYC. As a physician, I expect a minimum level of service, but this location is a disaster. The store is filthy, shelves are often empty, and products like Rogaine, Vanicream, and Citrucel are rarely in stock. The pharmacy staff is consistently rude and unhelpful. They refused to transfer my prescription, and when I returned to check on it, they shut the gate on me 5 minutes before closing. Even when I offered to write the prescription myself, they refused to assist. This store is a perfect example of why Walgreens is struggling. I’ll be walking the extra few blocks to another pharmacy from now on. Do better, @Walgreens. This location needs a major overhaul. #PoorService #Walgreens #CustomerServiceFail #NYC

As a prescriber, it's impossible to call in a prescription. I've tried 3 different times. I'd call, wait 15 minutes, and then talk to an operator who sends me to a another wait. At that point, either the message machine hands up on me or someone actually picks up and hangs up the phone. I literally just want to give them business... Do not use them.

The manager and the staff is very rude and close the pharmacy early. They should not close till the listed time

Employee did not know how to honor a 10% coupon on a specific drug which cost hundreds of dollars. She appeared to not know what she was doing. Impatient and couldn't be bothered to fill it and include the coupon. On arriving home I discovered the clerk cancelled my prescription without my consent when I viewed it online again and so I was unable to obtain it. The $30 coupon for one of many medicines was important to me. Walgreens employees at the window need attitude adjustments. The customer can go elsewhere as I already have for a couple of prescriptions. Recently read about Walgreens closing NYC stores. Hmm...it ain't a head scratcher.

The cashiers are a little rude sometimes. Their is a cashier there I forgot his name he is mostly rude all the time and he has a very bad hygiene problem. His uniform is not that clean and his skin was so dry that it was pealing off his face and he has loads of dry skin flakes on his shirt. Maybe he has a skin condition but I saw him other times working and he never look that bad. The managers do not care of the cleanliness of their employees. I would have sent him home immediately. I purchase the items but when I got home I use a several disinfectant wipes to clean my items outside packaging and then I remove the items from package. I been shopping there for a few years but I will stop going there now it's just so gross!
