Decatur Center for Nursing and Healing

This was my first time dealing with a rehab center, and I must say the individuals at this center are truly professionals. I was taken care of as a visitor.,I was able to speak with nursing personnel, the information desk was more than accommodating. This was my first experience with a rehab center. I will definitely be telling others who may need this type of nursing care how great this place is.

The receptionist was very kind and courteous. Warm and friendly. Helpful in showing us the check in procedure. The place was very clean. The interaction between the staff and patients was good 👍.

I stumbled on these reviews looking for something else and was sure the place had been shut down, renovated, restaffed and restored, especially after seeing the positive reviews. Do NOT believe them. It only took one of the bad ones to know the others were lies. I brought my mother here for what should have been a couple of weeks of rehab after a mild stroke in 2019. At the hospital, she was already improving within a few days. It took this place only two weeks to kill her. No meds, wrong meds, incomplete meds, letting her fall out of bed, no PT repeatedly because she asked to go to the bathroom beforehand, rude, incompetent and unprofessional staff. This place is good for therapy but awful for everything else. The nurses are professional but have no bedside manner. We only encountered about 4 nurses the whole month that we were there who were helpful. Only 2 CNA’s really helped. It was hard to get anyone to help at night. They are short staffed and need more assistance to help with the patients. I wouldn’t recommend this place as a 1st option. We left early!

I visited this facility to see two of my favorite people. I was greeted very pleasant and courteous by the young lady at the desk. She was very warm and helpful. The place was clean. My family states the treatment there was very good. The physical therapy dept. is very caring and helpful.
