Terrible experience. Following an endoscopy procedure, Dr. Shelnut proceeds to tell me I have a large hiatal hernia that had pushed into 1/3 of my chest cavity and I had the beginnings of Barrett's esophagus. I began asking questions, but she would not discuss anything and said she would call me "next week". She turned and walked out while I was trying to get some information. Why would you tell someone that disturbing news and then walk away? She finally did call 8 days later confirming what she told me the day of procedure and asked me what I thought. "Excuse me, but you're the doctor"! She offered no options other than to give me more medication or she could refer me to a surgeon if I wanted.
