I had an unfortunate visit to the ER on 12/27/2025. The doctors and staff were incredible. The place was crazy after the storm. There were no available rooms so I was on a gurney in the hall area. The chaos was unbelievable. Patients coming in non stop. The nurses, doctors and staff were attentive to everyone! Eventually I was able to leave after 9 hours. My only complaint was that the attendant answering the phones in the ER had a Spanish speaking caller. She kept saying "we don't speak Spanish"...There should be a Spanish speaking employee in the Emergency Room. The level of diversity in the area requires that everyone has the same treatment in a hospital! The caller I am sure wanted to know about their loved one and they were blocked from knowing what was happening. In fact the operator
I came here to the ER because I’m having excruciating chest pain and lower back pain To the point that it’s hard to walk. They told me they’ll send a RX to the pharmacy and I can go home.. I’m like are you kidding it’s hard to walk with this pain. They gave me meds it has not helped, I have been sitting here not one person has checked in on me. I called to tell them I’m still in pain he says you’re waiting for clinical. No one told me that I was waiting for them and he has not given me anything else for pain. Dr came in I told him send a RX to my pharmacy I want to go home. He said you have to wait and that it’s not gonna change if I’m here or home! This is the absolute worse experience ever! Next time I will travel to go to another hospital because Danbury Hospital has become the worst e
We had a wonderful experience in the ER at Danbury Hospital! Our doctor, Dr Doug Smith, was thorough and meticulous in his care and did a great job of keeping us up to date on everything that was going on. He discussed options with us in clear terms and gave us the space to make the best decisions for my father. He was kind and compassionate and clearly committed to doing the very best for his patients. Our nurse, Julia, went above and beyond. Her gentle confidence put us all at ease. She is truly extraordinary. She was very professional and very compassionate. I felt comfortable leaving my parents for a few hours because of the care given to my father. I highly recommend the Danbury ER.
This is a shout out to all the Nuvance EMTS for Danbury hospital. I have had to call them on numerous occasions for my 96 year old mother, and everyone has always been very considerate and helpful. . A special thanks to Ron, who has taken my mother, and me to the ER on many occasions. You guys and girls are awesome!! Thanks for all you do.
Been here multiple times …..always a long time in the ER due to low staff. Some of the nurses are RUDE. If i come here for the same thing, how you going to dismiss me without anything? Absolutely unbelievable. They prefer to not do certain exams just to “not waste” time . PLEASE do no better, care about the society, these are humans SICK , looking for help to heal. Do not dismiss it like nothing. You see people crying in PAIN, bleeding , passed out in wheelchairs ! i understand it could get busy but PLEASE DO BETTER.
