Costco Pharmacy

I came here to receive some rather exotic travel vaccines and all of the staff were wonderful in assisting me.

I noticed that many of the bad reviews were from people that have only reviewed 1 or 2 places. Not sure why that is. It takes a lot before I give someplace a 1 or 5 star review. I can share my experience. I changed to Costco when another pharmacy wanted a lot of money for a med. Costco saved me over $100 on one proscription. They have also have me enough meds to get by until they had enough to fill a 90 order. They always have been very friendly, even if it is right at closing time. They check what insurance and discounts are thebest price for my wife and I. Only drawback I have is no online management of my medications for ordering and filling. I usually have a good experience with Costco but hours need to be updated online. We rushed home from a holiday vacation to get antibiotics for our son, arriving an hour before online hours said the pharmacy closed. When we got there, not only was the pharmacy closed, but the whole store was closing. We feel like updating hours online is not a hard thing and needs to be done as that is how most people check store hours.

I will begin bye saying they do have good prices on some items I need, thus they get two stars. The problem is that they are out of stock on those items 50% of the time. Worst of all, their automated phone service tells you when to pick it up even though they don't have the prescription in stock. So you go to the store and wait five to ten minutes on line to find out you wasted your time and gas coming in. They need to sync their automated phone service to the inventory so they aren't giving false information. The other option, which I will use in the future is to wade through the automated options on the phone and wait on hold to talk to an overworked pharmacist to tell they are sorry they don't have it in.

I will be putting in a more complete review later but I am switching pharmacies after just a few months because I am just blown away with how terrible their customer service at this pharmacy is. Rude, unhelpful, and passive aggressive are just a few adjectives I would use to describe my experience with the their staff. If I ever witnessed one of my employees treat a guest the way they treated me, they would be fired on the spot.
