Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists

My horse, Prome, seemingly has made it his mission to show the world how amazing the Ruffian team is. Our Ruffian experience started in 2020 when my guy had to be seen twice in one year for horrible colic. The first colic was particularly scary yet Dr. Pigott and his team remained diligent and saw Prome through that, getting him well and finally able to come home. Dr. Pigott came to the rescue again in February 2023 when Prome required “dorsal spinous process surgery” for “severe thoracolumbar kissing spine”. Not only did Prome come back after that surgery but he absolutely thrived, moving the best he ever had. In fact, he did so well that we were able to do a hunter derby in late fall 2023 and planned to get on the show circuit this summer. Unfortunately, Prome’s body had other plans and

Dr.Piggott is an excellent surgeon and throughly explains every procedure to his clients . He also provides follow up instructions.
