I have a love/hate relationship with this place. They are the reason I was put in Providence in Portland as a minor (14), all while dealing with my mom's death. So instead of providing mental health counseling to get me through it, they told DHS that I was a danger to myself and basically took me away from my dad. (yes, he was a terrible father, but that didn't mean I didn't want to live with him) So, they first stuck me in the hospital for almost a month, then shipped me all the way out to Portland to stay in Providence for another half a month. After coming back I went back to them (with a grudge) for therapy, and after telling them they decided to take me completely away from my dad and ANY familiar surroundings, all while dealing with one of the most traumatic experiences of my life +

This place is terrible. I've had a hard time getting help here because they will black mail you and put in false reports because you don't always take their advice. I remember when I told a therapist I had here "No" about a medication and a few days later we got a call that there was a report that I was hurting somebody.. interesting. Everyone knew it was a lie and vouched for me. I've been to this place MANY many times in the last few years(because there's not much options here) and after hearing about Saraya ree's case.. That has me convinced this place will never change, just shut down already. Out of 4-5 years I've had ONE good experience with a nice girl named Marie.

Without this place I would be dead I'm convinced they saved my life. Mental illness is no joke. I am still struggling but I wouldn't even be alive if not for coos health and wellness

In most cases, this center displays only the bare-minimum attention to patients, with problems in staff competence from the front desk to even the doctors and director. In Saraya Rees case, (which honestly should be the first thing to consider) they completely dismiss the importance of their role in dealing with mental health issues and call the police to do their job. Because of those actions, the police ended up forcefully arresting 13-year old Saraya, drawing statements out of her in a delusional state, prohibited her parents from seeing her, and continue to hold her in a juvenile center until she “accepts accountability”. With an very dubious ability to Fundamentally understand the need for special care for mental illness, I would stay far away. Oh and even worse, they haven’t even ad
