Cone Health MedCenter High Point

Went to the ER after being sent from UC. Staff friendly and attentive. Pulled back and triaged in appropriate timeframe. Staff knowledgeable and able to figure out what was going on and determine treatment. All of my experiences with Cone facilities have been fantastic. Would recommend to family and friends!

I arrived at cone health Hospital around 6:30 on Monday today because I was very scared and stressed out that I may have been exposed to mold. The lady at the front asked me what I was there for and I explained to her I was there to take a mold exposure test. After waiting for four hours, I was finally able to get a room. After waiting even longer, Dr. Peterson came in and asked me a few questions. He was very short and dismissive, clearly trying to get me in and out not caring whether or not I got help. He was very blunt and quick to say they do not give mold exposure test unless you have AIDS which I did not understand. A close friend sought care at Cone Health on Monday around 6:30 PM due to serious concerns about possible mold exposure. They were visibly anxious and scared about their symptoms. After waiting approximately four hours to be placed in a room followed by additional waiting to be seen the interaction with the attending physician, Dr. Peterson, was described as rushed and dismissive. According to the patient, their concerns were quickly brushed aside, and they were told that mold exposure testing is not performed unless a patient has AIDS, which was confusing and not clearly explained. The Q-Tip cotton had got stuck inside my ear very deeply inside it was scary and uncomfortable I tried taking it out with tweezers it was painful. I arrived at the hospital around 2am and the wait time wasn’t more than a minute I was about to sit down after checking in. The doctors called me into the room to get checked they were very polite I explained what happened the doctor immediately got to work with these long tweezers that are used for the problem that I had. He explained how they were going to be used and if it didn’t work there was another way to get the cotton out he did check to make sure it was inside my ear and the cotton was definitely stuck deep inside my left ear. I went to the ER last night. Dr Alicia Gray and the team that assisted her were amazing. They were so sweet, caring and professional. The whole staff was top tier from check-in thru discharge.
