Community Extended Care of Montclair

I would never trust this place with my family again. My godfather was recently placed at this facility for a 10-day course of IV. Our experience with the nursing supervisor, Jamie, is disturbing. I was the patient’s translator and god-daughter (he does not speak English). Whenever I raised basic patient concerns, such as nausea or belly pain, Jamie dismissed the patient’s needs (“he never told us that”), gaslit, or shifted blame (“it’s the previous hospital’s fault”). When we asked a question about treatment, Jamie responds with personal defensiveness, saying things like "I do so much for this family and now you ask this," or “I don’t like the way you’re talking to me,” — without addressing the actual symptoms . My mom has been here for a week so far and has had excellent care and physical therapy. I trust these people with my Mom and my mom has been very happy here. The TV channel selection is very limited but mom is sleeping most of the time anyhow. The staff has been extremely courteous and helpful. I was worried at first because I have heard so many terrible stories about nursing facilities but I am there with my Mom everyday and have seen personally the quality of care they provide. I really recommend this skilled nursing facility for your loved ones.

Our visit was very Pleasant as soon as we walked in from the receptionist nurses and Other workers .. The room with the plants and a movie showing for the patients was very cozy the other room that was showing Christmas Videos and playing music was very beautiful very touching .. Thank you again for taking care of my special friend ..🌸

My mother was sent here upon discharge from surgery on her fractured hip. She arrived midafternoon on a Friday, and by early evening I received a call from the facility saying she had fallen and was being sent to Montclair hospital to make sure nothing was broken. She was returned a few hours later only to fall again. The next day was Sunday. I received a call again from them saying she had taken a bad fall trying to get to the bathroom. She was taken to the hospital again. Needless to say, I was upset. My mom was a “fall risk,” yet she had no walker or wheelchair in her room. She was not in a diaper nor did she have a catheter. I voiced my concerns to the nursing staff, only to have them brushed off. When my mom was discharged from the hospital, the hospital called me. I told them my

I feel the entire place has improved since I was there last. My friend’s room was clean and the place did not smell. My friend was nice and clean and look refreshed. The staff were kind and accommodating. I’m so happy to see her happy!
