Like a lot of people, I hate going to the dentist. Commonwealth Dentistry makes it almost pleasurable. Crazy right?!? From the moment you walk in the door you’re greeted with warmth and kindness. I’ve dealt with many of the staff and each one has been exemplary. My last visit required time consuming work. Dr. Pete Freag and Elsy remained upbeat and pleasant the whole time. I never felt like I was taking up too much of their time or like they wanted me out of their chair. Dr. Pete also takes his time numbing you so there is no pain- he doesn’t just jab and push the needle in your mouth. Just an awesome experience. My hygienist, Cass is super great too. Yesterday I had my second cleaning/check up at Commonwealth Dentistry in Palmyra. They were awesome. (Previously, I went to CD's office in Crozet, and they were also awesome, but Palmyra is closer to me.) Their dental hygienists were careful and thorough, incorporating elements that I hadn't experienced in previous cleanings, such as pocket depth. I also learned a few things. Dr. Rowland did a thorough check of my mouth and x-rays. I was quite pleased with the experience.

Had my first visit today after leaving my trusted NOVA dentist. All aspects of the practice is well run and exceptional. Suzanne is one of the most competent and detailed oriented hygienists I have ever had. Dr Rowland is clearly a top notch dentist. Would recommend this practice to anyone.

I have a serious fear of dentists but I have a tooth that needs a filling so of course I had to do something about it. I was quickly put to ease as soon as I was greeted by the receptionist. I call he Ms Hollywood because she looks just like the actress Nicole Ari Parker. The next person that I came in contact with was my hygienist Renee’. She was very kind and gentle. She also explained everything as she was doing it. I told her if my fear and she took it seriously and I finally felt heard. A lot of times I feel as though you tell people of your fear and it goes in one ear and out of the other. I met my dentist which was Dr. Rowland. He too was very kind and gentle. He reminded me of a the one dentist that I actually liked in my early adulthood. I liked Dr. Rowland right off the bat. T

So, I had a filling. After many years and many fillings, this was the easiest, least painful ever. Gabby, the dental assistant, was comforting and competent. I'm scheduled for a crown in March. I hope it goes as well. Expensive! But they are willing to work with me on payments. I missed seeing my hygienist and new friend, Caz. She's always on top of the best care. Now, Dr. Peters... hummm, very competent and to the point. This works for me. And like I said, the pain was negligible, mostly anxiety from my own past dental experiences. Yep, highly recommend this practice!
