Civita Care Center at Newington

Placing a love one in a ctr is the hardest decision to do, we needed a place we felt safe/easy access to our mom & to be sure we can reach out to staff. Once we did a tour at Civita & did a sit down on our moms care, we felt somewhat at ease..Civita aides/nurses in memory unit are caring & welcoming, but as we know residents need an advocate. After a few weeks we needed to advocate for our mom & review her care plan to be sure we were all on same page. We have seen more communication & improvements from APRNs/rehab Team & nurses. I do wish there was more staffing so my mom & other residents can have more 1-1, but I do see them trying their best with what they can do.

Staff is very attentive and caring. The nurse even called me to let me know that my fiancee was too tired for a particular treatment tonight. I greatly appreciate them keeping me involved in his care! PT and OT tells me about his progress, makes suggestions and works at his pace. Dietician was helpful with changing diet to accommodate chewing issues, ordered supplements for wound healing and keeping track of weight loss issue. Facility is clean and setup well. Anxious to have my fiancée home, but I’m confident he’s in good hands!

Telling us we can’t see or contact my grandmother through the phone is beyond me. The judge didnt even know why this is and the care facility are under no orders to say we can’t call her and she can’t call us. She is in a locked room with no danger to herself or others. Not getting her a SIBO test even though I’ve sent 2 letters to their facility telling them to do so. 2 nurses already sent my grandmother into the hospital, the latest date was Halloween when she fell on her knees and bumped her head and the care facility has no recollection that this even took place, yet the hospital in New Britain told me everything. Please stay away from this place!!!

I found Savita care center to be very clean. The staff was courteous and they were on top of all their tasks and duties that had to be done for the day and I see that my cousin who is here has been taken care of very well and he is doing good and he is very happy to be were he is at Civita Care…❤️

Staff exceptional and enough personnel at nite to care for needs of patients very clean and rooms well furnished w tvs and beds and chairs
