CityMD East 86th Urgent Care - NYC

I visited the CityMD on 86th Street today for a medical clearance and had an excellent experience thanks to Tay and Tyler. Tyler checked me in and was extremely thorough. He asked the right questions and made sure I was being seen for exactly what I needed. I had previously gone to two other CityMD locations where my paperwork was not completed properly, but Tyler took the time to ensure everything was correct and complete before I was seen. I truly appreciated his diligence and professionalism. Tay drew my blood and was superb. She carefully located the vein and only performed the stick once she was confident — which I really noticed because I’ve had previous visits elsewhere where even physicians struggled. Her technique was gentle, confident, and painless. Together they were a dream

My experience at this location was that the PA seemed more concerned with being right about what *they* thought, than listening to the patient's concerns and understanding of their body. I was made to feel like I was exaggerating for being highly concerned about symptoms that were rapidly worsening following an initial improvement, and was told that it was "just a virus" and that I basically needed to be patient. These symptoms were by no means ordinary to me, and as I suspected, the illness was severe, and took over *two months* to fully recover from. That was also only after I consulted my PCP virtually (I wasn't well enough to travel to their office), who immediately prescribed me the medication I needed, and was shocked it wasn't provided earlier at this urgent care. I never leave reviews but had to after dropping in with my 4 year old tonight. Only option open at a later hour on weekends. The Drs/nurses on staff were so so kind and patient with my daughter. Just so helpful and wonderful bedside manner, spent so much time explaining things to me and making us feel so cared for. So glad to know something like this exists in place of an ER for the cases where it makes sense.

Pathetic service. If you need to be seen don’t come here. I was referred on from the 50th street because I needed an X-ray on my chest. The waiting room emptied only to fill and empty again. Went multiple times to the front desk to ask if I would be seen. Her responses was there are people are ahead of you. A door dash delivery driver came in to drop off food. When the front desk women went to hand it off she asked the RN “is Jeff able to see someone for a x-ray” the RN responded “he is free”. I waited another 20 min to be seen from that interaction that I over heard.

HORRIBLE experience. Completely misdiagnosed and misled... came in with awful flu symptoms after 5 days, got covid/flu tested, results came back negative. Didn't even see a doc... the PA David Figueroa diagnosed me with having bronchitis and gave a nebulizer and prescribed mucinex and ibuprofen (like.. okay? I can get these things OTC). Turns out I just got a phone call that the results they sent out came back positive for Influenza A... Was completely misdiagnosed and misled... horrible customer care and poor medical knowledge.
