CityMD East 23rd Urgent Care - NYC

Top notch team. From check-in, to assistant (Mya) to Dr. Thomas. This review today is regarding our visit yesterday, 12/29. Another excellent though highly needed visit to City MD East 23rd. From the communications at check-in to the thorough questions by the assistant, and then to the stellar checkup by the fantastic Dr. Walker. He is very knowledgeable, communicative, understanding, personable and has the care of the patient absolutely at the highest priority. Also a shout out to Daniel, his assistant, Danielle at the front desk, and Richard. They all made the visit as good as it could be.

We had an appointment for my daughter. Check-in was very fast. The doctor (Mr Walker) and his assistant (I forgot her name unfortunately) were very friendly. Mr Walker assessed my daughter’s problem very quick and in detail. He took a blood test and explained the next steps. Besides we had a nice talk about his holiday experience in our country :))

I woke up feeling terrible so made an appointment for that same day. When I arrived, I was greeted kindly by the front desk worker. I waited for less than five minutes before I was called in by the medical assistant. The medical assistant and doctor were both very friendly and helpful. I was prescribed some meds and sent on my way with thorough instructions.

I went there a while ago for an annual physical. They provided a different service, not covered by the insurance, and billed me for it, at which point the only documentation I had for a complaint at the (quite rude) billing department and for my insurance was about the service I had not requested. I usually leave more nuanced reviews and try to balance my disappointment with the goodwill of the people I interact with, but this experience was a huge disappointment and the uncooperativeness of their personnel was inexcusable. I have never come back.

A huge blessing that City MD was here on Black Friday. Getting care right after the holidays in NYC, from the moment we walked in the ladies at the front desk were very pleasant and quick to check us in. The doctor was very thorough and I feel she addressed our issues promptly, she sent us for additional testing at another City MD near Penn station. Overall it was a great experience, would definitely recommend to friends and family.
