Children's Dental Health of Mechanicsburg

We’ve had such a great experience here! The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They make sure I have all the forms I need for my son’s school, which makes things easier for me. They’re also incredibly patient and kind with my son, which really puts him at ease. He’s had exams, X-rays, and fillings done here, and they always take excellent care of him. I feel confident knowing he’s in good hands!

Our appointment was at 5pm. I am not even sure they spent 15 minutes with my 14 year old daughter. She reported the dentist saw her first looked at her teeth said nothing and then the hygienist came started putting fluoride all over her teeth, mouth and face. She reported her as being rough and aggressive. All they said to me the parent was, “she is perfect, you are good to go.” Yet nobody addressed our concern for her adult tooth that is growing in crooked and causing her pain. Very disappointing.

I had an uncomfortable experience during my visit yesterday. When I asked for assistance in lowering the bed, a dental assistant responded in an annoyed manner and instructed me to keep my children in one place and not move around. As someone who works in healthcare, I believe that therapeutic communication is essential when interacting with patients and parents. This response made me feel unsupported and uncomfortable. I hope this feedback helps improve staff communication and enhance the overall patient experience in the future.

After taking my daughter back and starting her procedure they tell me that I’ll owe more than expected. The price quoted was $158. I agree because she’s already over halfway through getting her tooth repaired . 15 minutes later we’re preparing to leave and they tell me that my total is $472 and that I have to pay it before I leave or they’ll cancel all my kids’ future appts. Had they told me this up front, I would not have proceeded. Instead they waited until after everything was done and I had no other options. Springing a neatly $500 bill on anyone feels wildly unethical.

It was terrible. They didn't tell us prior to the appt to have our child eat a light breakfast. Though he was getting anesthesia to get fillings. He threw up everywhere. They threw a fit about my husband & I being in the room though my son was out of it & had puke from head to toe. Then there was this one extremely rude blonde chick with a mop that kept walking around saying how we were rude because we were in the room comforting our very confused & sick son. She was terrible. I plan on getting my children in somewhere else. They were very unprofessional. Though there were a couple ladies there that were nice & understanding.
