Charlton Memorial Hospital

I want to take a minute to personally thank this hospital for always taking great care of me during some pretty difficult times. More importantly i want to acknowledge the PA Micheal Gauthier who took excellent care of my daughter today in the ER. I recognized him from 2021 when i needed stitches myself, i specifically asked if he could be the one to help her and he did. Micheal was compassionate, and took the time to explain every detail, making my very scared daughter feel comfortable and secure in his expertise. He is a true asset to the Southcoast Health team. I hope whoever is in charge realizes how lucky they are!!

After driving nearly two hours to see how my sister was doing in the ER I was told I could not go in to see her because she was in a "bed" in the hall in the ER. The triage person at the desk told me that and told me to have a seat, she said they'd call me when I could go in. I asked them how they would do that since they didn't know my name. They were very dismissive, told me to go have a seat and they would call out my sister's name. Reasonable? Maybe. But given the state of our emergency rooms I asked how long that might be, could it be say two hours? Yes, she said then. But she would have just had me sitting there, tense and concerned for my sister's well-being for what would have been at least four hours, or maybe indefinitely. Where do I begin??? Is there any way that you could be rushed to the hospital via ambulance with a heart problem, & was finding it impossible to breath & come out 2 days later fully cured and felt like you stayed at a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ property & was taken care of by the most amazing staff… well that just happened to me! Started with Ryan in the ER, outstanding at his job, got moved to the 2nd floor where I had the most amazing nurse…came in on Thursday night cannot remember her name, but she was incredible!!! The next 2 days I was taken care of by Dr Zaydes & Dr Sultan, as well as my guardian angle nurse Marian… they were all fantastic!!! Worst hospital to have a baby in! After having memorable experiences at other hospitals, i regret telling my daughter in law to have her baby here. Only 2 people allowed in the room with her. I was at work when I got the call so my daughter went with my son into the room with her. I left work to rush here and they wouldn't allow me into the room or to switch places with my daughter. They said only the 2 ppl originally here, no switching out. So im here now missing the birth of my 1st grandchild. The staff were also rude to my daughter before I got here. My son and his fiance wanted me in the room and they destroyed what should have been a beautiful experience for us all.

Terrible hospital. Accused me of smelling like weed before a crash when even the police say i didnt smell. Nurse was too busy doing her hair and never gave me pain meds till after cat scans and xrays even though im yelling in pain. Poor experience. Poor hospital. Look out for my civil suit paperwork on the way to your attorney. Good luck in court. Treat patients with respect!!!!
