It all depends on which doctor you end up with. I was lucky and got a good doctor. My husband was not. He waited six hours, and no doctor came to see him even once or asked what was going on with him. In his discharge paperwork they wrote that he only had a cough. Even though he had a very high fever for five days, he could not breathe, he was dizzy, his blood pressure was high, he could clearly hear clicking sounds in his chest when exhaling, and because of that he could not sleep. The doctor did not think it was necessary to listen to his lungs, refused to prescribe antibiotics, and sent him home saying that everything was fine. I do not believe people come to the ER because everything is “fine.” PS Small update: it turned out my husband had an ear infection, and he was prescribed antib
While Cedars emergency room in Marina Del Rey is only 5 minutes away from us, we have not received good care when we go there. Today we arrived, and were treated like trash. They couldn’t find my husbands info in their system and they had no insurance or financial info on him. Their system, that all our family members go to. When we told them that he is in their system for 15 years, they said they had to get a supervisor. The supervisor said he couldn’t find it either. Meanwhile my husbands throat is closing up. They told him “ oh you’re fine” . Then they kept him at the desk while he clearly needs help, while other people went in ahead of him. I’m like “Hello” my husband tongue has swollen to where he could barely swallow and had blood pooling in his throat. My husband is extremely slow
Absolutely the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. I have recurring back/disc issues and I see the Cedars spine doctors in Beverly Hills. I just stay closer to this location so when I slipped a disc again I went here once I was physically able to with help. My partner helped me get to the door and from that moment on I kept telling the staff I slipped a disc and needed help getting around. For over an hour nobody brought me a wheelchair and I had to ask aggressively to get help getting around and to sit down and get up from chairs because every time I asked for help they looked at me like I was crazy. The young lady who checked me in was kind but the rest of the staff was just not helpful at all. The waiting room smelled so bad like urine, feces and vomit coming from the bathroom. A guy actu
Excellent service! Dr Kate and team from ER were attentive and professional. Tue morning I had a home accident slipping and hitting my forehead needing stitches but staff there was very nice to me and my wife who drove me to the Hosp. Dr Kate ordered all testing and after seen that everything was ok, she sent me home. I appreciate also the Patient coordinator, I believe her name is Nurse Sandra. Thank you Dr Kate, you are the best!!
Don’t go here!!! Came in with horrible stomach pain where I was doubled over. Was there for four hours and never offered any pain meds or a bed. Kept wheeling me out to the lobby that reeked of throw up after each test while I was sobbing in pain. The kicker, a man came in obviously drunk but coherent and got a bed quickly and got to enjoy a sandwich. After testing they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me and sent me on my way. Four days later I’m back at UCLA in Santa Monica ER where they run another CT and find a kidney stone. Doctor was shocked how they missed this just days before as said it would have been clear on the CT scan they did. Complete incompetence and no patient bedside manner or care for people who come in there. Avoid at all costs.
