Cedar Hill Health Care

We were helped checking in my cousin from Chicago and his wife. They came to see my mother and visit for a while, we had a very nice visit in her room and on the porch.

Today I visited Cedar Hill and received a tour of the Skilled Nursing area. Having worked for two decades or so in a wide range of residential settings it highly impressive walking through; seeing and feeling the kindness and therapeutic energy flowing freely among workers and residents. A very genuine home like atmosphere is evidently part of the DNA of the place. The rehab area appears to offer some modern and quite advanced looking equipment to help to optimize physical therapy. The Cedar Hill continuous care facility manages to be very clean while at the same time not presenting as sterile or institutional.

My friend recently needed to relocate to the Memory Care Unit at Cedar Hill and I've started to visit her, initially with her close family members to make sure she's comfortable with me and has a sense that I belong in her orbit. The staff is unflaggingly patient, courteous and friendly. Today, we walked around the perimeter of the campus because it was chilly. The guys we saw working outside (stringing up lights for the holidays) were friendly and kind too, and went out of their way to joke with us and make us feel good. Everything is sparkling clean and calm inside and out. I am sad for what's happening so rapidly to my friend but feel better that her family and she have Cedar Hill to support all of them.

My father has been receiving post operative rehab at Cedar Hill. I've had great interactions with the staff and have found them responsive and caring to my father and his needs. I believe they have a good ratio of staff to their patients which means they're really aware of needs and quick to act without seeming overwhelmed. I'd highly recommend their rehab services to anyone in need of such care after surgery.

The care team for my mom is friendly, warm, and receptive to any and all questions/comments. They want the very best experience for their residents. Debbie st the front desk is a wonderful person to be greeted by and when you call will let you know the status of the facility (i. e. flu outbreak, etc.). I know my mom is being well cared for at Cedar Hill.
