Cavalier Healthcare of Trussville

My dad just got out of a 20 day in-patient rehab stay here. We initially had a few bumps in the road but we addressed those quickly, management was apologetic, and things were great after that. Andy is FABULOUS and has such a big heart. Catie, the administrator, took time to listen to me and hear my concerns. Dee and Sharmaine (forgive me if I'm not spelling that right) are the best CNAs around. Cavalier did a great job at increasing my dad's strength to get him ready for discharge. I can honestly say they took great care of him. He made friends there that we will continue to visit. Things can't be fixed or addressed if you don't bring them to someone's attention. I have put off writing a review on this facility. But I finally had to say my peace. My Mom had to go to rehab there after a short stay in the hospital. She was not improving at all. There were exactly 2 nurses that showed any kind of compassion and patience. Also the OT and PT were very nice as well. Trying to get someone to com e change your parent is virtually impossible. How terrible is it to be sitting in a soiled pull up for and hour or more. Medications were not given timely and trying to get any information on her condition from a nurse was almost impossible. I have so much guilt for letting her go there. She passed away after being there for 10 days. I definitely didn't think she was in that kind of condition before going to rehab. I attended an event here a few months ago and it has stuck with me ever since. Cavalier put on a pageant for the residents and they couldn't have been any sweeter if they tried. The residents had a great time and the staff clearly cares so much for them. I got to chatting with the lady sitting next to me, her uncle was competing and she had nothing but great things to say about Cavalier. They even had some pageant queens from Alabama come judge which I thought was such a nice touch! That and the live music was awesome. After the event, I asked if I could have a quick tour since I am looking for a place for one of my loved ones and the administrator herself gave me a tour. All of the staff cares, from the person who greeted me at the door, to the care staff, to the admin.

My loved one is at this facility. How to say that no matter where you go, there are going to be some challenges in any nursing home or rehabilitation center. I want to preface with this because true and the best thing to do is find the best place possible. I know from experience that this is the best place I have found in the Birmingham, area. I would say this is in the top 10 of all facilities in Alabama. Kudos to the staff for all their hard work and thanks to the entertainment staff for planning all the activities!

The nursing home that my daughter was in was closing, so I was searching for a place that she would be cared for in every facet of day to day care. I did a lot of praying, asking God to show me the best place with honest, caring people. I was told about Cavalier Nursing from various people. I felt like God sent them to us. I went to the facility. It was above and beyond what I was expecting! It was Clean, everyone is so friendly and caring. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a home away from home. My daughter loves it here. Yes, it takes a moment to transition, but she is doing well and acclimating well.
