Calvert County Nursing Center

Facility needs so much help, so little to no staffing no huddles as far as workers no communication within the nursing department. Administrator is very disrespectful, and needs reprimanding and or training ASAP she should not be in charge of anyone. The administrator hung up a call mid call and refuse to answer any more calls. Her tone is very degrading and repulsive, there is no DON no ADON. Facility has no structure. You have GNA’s acting as nurses as far as care is concerned. It’s very disappointing not sure if I would ever allow my family here.

I was a resident here for rehab. The nurses who took care of me were wonderful, caring professionals, specifically Heather and Eddie. The CNAs that took care of me were wonderful as well, especially Terry. The entire rehab department is fantastic.

My mom is 82 years old and is in the Western Shores Rehab Center. When my mom arrived she had been in bed in ICU for several weeks and lost all ability to even scoot around. I have to say these PT workers are fabulous!!!! They have ALOT of patience and dedication to their work! Within 5 weeks they have mom ready to go home!!! The Director of the entire Center “Robin” is wonderful, she is so talented in all aspects of her work! The entire staff from doctors, nurses etc…. Have been a true blessing to taking care of my mom. The cafeteria staff is amazing. My mom didn’t want to eat when she first arrived, they have worked on alternative meals for her to the point where she has actually eaten and gained weight back that she had lost from ICU etc… the unit has always been clean every single day

Clean Facility, Pretty decent food, Great facility activities, Amazing Rehab, Overall pretty Good nursing care! Modern facility compared to some of the others in nearby area but id rather much have my love one right here at Calvert because you will get Much Better Care… By far the best decision my husband and I made to place my mom in-law who has dementia at Calvert for long-term care after we could no longer care for her at home, I’m beyond grateful for all the staff here.Without hesitation I highly recommend!

I've always had a great time, however there have been some Sundays particularly today when I visit the residence to provide Church Services from Covenant Ministries, some residence tell me no one came to get them ready to take them to service. I guess due to a shortage of staff. The facility for the most part stays and smell clean, but there have been times, where it seem to have been neglected, very few times since I've been coming there, and have improved tremendously. However, everyone I've encounter, staff and residence alike tend to be very polite, Ms Darlene in particular and all the ladies who manage the front desk. God bless you all.
