Brentwood Pediatrics

I have to say this because there is still time to fix some things. First: I’ve been visiting this office for around 12 years. Dr. Juan Espinoza is an excellent doctor, so is Dr. Lee and any other doctor I’ve talked to. BUT, and there is a big BUT, some of the staff is like out of place. They have an attitude of superiority, some of them. Others are great, but there are a couple that think you are there asking for a favor, doing things so fast that sometimes you feel like if you are buying at a fast food restaurant instead of having an appointment. Others want you to do what they think you have to do, when you already agreed with the doctor about what is the next step to take, but they insist on you doing the things as they want you to. I arrived 20 minutes early for my child’s appointment and was rudely told by the front desk that I could not be attended because I came too early. I have never experienced that in a medical office—especially when we were told patients would be attended until 1:00 PM and my appointment was at 12:00 PM. What made the situation worse was a comment from someone in the back who said, “Does she speak English? Do you want me to tell her? In Spanish.” This was discriminatory, inappropriate, and completely unprofessional. No parent should feel disrespected or judged in a pediatric office. This is not a welcoming or professional environment for children or families. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for pediatric care.

I hate to do this but it’s enough, today I had an appointment set at 6:15 with JUAN ESPINOZA I came in 45 minutes early bc I like to always arrive early. When I go in after them telling me my kid would need a vaccination. I asked if I was seeing Juan as it was very weird I was send in early to the room like at 5:40. They said no I would be seeing other doctor I said sure no problem I would like to reschedule as I been waiting months to see Dr.Juan but once I got to the front the lady who was going check me out was very nice but then some girl come from the back very rude and nasty and saying stuff as if it was the doctor. (Not sure if he did but if he did say that it talk a lot for a person saying to be a professional because I was never rude or mad at the fact I was going come back) MA

usually i am pretty satisfied with my experience here however wait time is sometimes very long and if you call you might be waiting for half an hour or an hour+ to speak to someone. at my child’s last appointment one of the doctors was very judgmental toward me because i smoke weed, which is legal. she was rude about it and then tried to get a urine sample from my TODDLER. what does she think, i let my toddler smoke? or that i smoke anywhere near my child? ridiculous. shame on her. some medical professionals do not have bedside manner and should not work with patients.

I don't think the way they treat patients is acceptable. The staff needs more training. I tried to make an appointment and they were very rude, so I will never take my daughter to that place again.
