Bradley Medical Center

Where do I start?? It's taken me Six weeks to write this review. I've tried to take time to see what I went through from different angles. I know I was Scared, upset, hurting etc . I know accidents happen everyday. So here's my experience with Bradley medical center. On NYE , I fell at home and broke my hip. It was a whirlwind from start to finish. I arrived by Ambulance to a full hospital. I laid on my bed in the hallway of the ER for some time. I watched one person pass away , also laying in the hallway less than ten feet away. Then heard the Commotion of another on the other end of the hall. This broke my heart. I was moved to my room on the second floor right before midnight. Overall rating would have been better, but room temperature varies too widely: I was transported to ER via ambulance on 02/16 due to broken femur. Had surgery to insert rod on 02/17. Due to this condition, I am unable to get up as / when desired. Still here 1 week later because insurance is slow approving moving me to rehab facility. The thermostat for the room I am in frequently eiither gets the room too hot or too cold. If weather is moderate and stable, this is okay. To address a too cold condition (night shift on 02/23; BRRRRRR), I have to call for assistance. They turned the thermostat up more than once, and finally brought extra blankets to wrap around my freezing feet. Lying here now with cover turned back, while hot. Very professional and informative from all of the staff. I came in through the AMAZING professional ambulance service to ER with terrible chest pain and had been falling over. They went above and beyond. Through testing through their cardiology, along amazing communication with my current doctors.The food was very impressive giving various options for universal nutrition needs. They took the best care of me while I was in an uncertain scary state. 10/10 recommend.

I rate them four stars cause I believe the floors need a deep cleaning, but the care I received in the ER was exceptional in my opinion. They were very thorough and the whole staff seemed very kind and attentive to the issue I was there for, and took my symptoms seriously, and didn’t downplay them. I appreciated their professionalism very much. I’m also thankful my bill won’t be as high as I expected, according to my insurance eob. Much cheaper than a visit I had in years past.

I would give the nurses and other staff and most doctors a better than 3 stars but our discharge wait today was insane. My son was released from cardiac short stay around 1:15 and we got home at 6:00. The hospitalist, Dr. Rhyne, the discharging doctor, didn’t show up until 4:50 and he said we should still wait and talk to Dr. Richards, the cardiac doctor, before being fully discharged. We waited until 5:45, then packed our bags, put on our coats and walked out to the hallway. Stopped by our nice nurse, she said my son would have to sign a paper saying he left without formal discharge. He willingly did that and we walked out ….. tired, frustrated and NOT understanding how any reason they could conjure up would justify a 5-hour wait for discharge. I’m still a bit angry about it…..
