Barefoot Birth

I could not recommend Makayla at Barefoot Birth more!! She is incredibly knowledgeable and certainly who you want on your team in the stressful moments. I am a first time mom and my labor was not textbook. Makayla and Kristen walked along side me and my husband through a week of early labor and a quick early morning delivery. Never once did I feel like a burden. They educated us every step of the way as to what our options were and never made us feel pressured one way or another. Labor aside, my pregnancy and postpartum experience were equally as fantastic. Makayla had answers for most of my questions and for the ones she didn’t she went and found the answer. She was encouraging, real, honest, and truly has a gift for what she does. I hope to work with her for any future pregnancies!

My wife and I originally planned to have our baby through a hospital provider in Greenville, but throughout the pregnancy we kept receiving advice that didn’t align with our birth plan or our desire for a natural birth. It became frustrating and discouraging, and we felt like our goals weren’t being prioritized. That’s when we met Makayla. From the very first conversation, she immediately put both of us at ease. She listened to our concerns, respected our birth plan, and gave us a level of confidence and peace that we hadn’t felt before. Because of that, we made the decision to switch providers on a Monday. Makayla and Kristen are absolutely amazing midwives! I feel so blessed to say that they provided excellent care for our growing family. Our initial call with Makayla was so informative and she was so kind and walked me through what her midwifery care would look like. Every visit was so pleasant and she always gave me information for pregnancy but also information and tips for my toddler! Her care for me postpartum has been equally helpful and such a blessing. She offered me so many encouraging words and helpful information for breastfeeding again and I’ve had a much better experience this time around! We genuinely felt cared for and have nothing but positive things to say about Makayla and her team! We are so thankful for the services she and Kristen provided for us and for their expertise

I was so happy with the care I received from Makayla. She provided informed consent for all aspects of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. It was so sweet looking back at my birth pictures, Makayla looked so happy to be there. She was a joyful and comforting presence. Prenatal care was thorough and personal. I am so glad I was able to work with Makayla!

My experience with barefoot birth was nothing short of amazing. From the very first meeting to the last push when my baby was born- Makayla & Kristen were an incredible team. This was my first home-birth experience and I’m so thankful to have had such a wonderful opportunity. They were there for all my questions and concerns- always providing an answer & helpful tips. My daughter came with me to every appointment & she always looked forward to seeing her friends (Makayla & Kristen). I have zero complaints and know that home births will be my go to for future pregnancies. I’ll be back with my amazing midwife team too ❤️.
