Avir at Beaumont

My mom is at Avir At Beaumont. All of her therapist are outstanding. She came to Avir from Baptist Hospital. She was bedridden. She couldn’t feed herself. She could not walk and her speech was slow and weak. With the help of the therapist she can stand on her own and walk. She can feed herself. Her speech is much better. The nurses and staff are so nice to my mom

I recently had to move my mom to a new SNF. The previous place was neglecting her and she lost 20 lbs and had developed a bed sore. Birchwood is the place I chose after doing a walk through on a Friday morning. What stood out to me was the overwhelming response of all employees that I asked how they liked their job. Every single person responded that they loved their job. After inquiring about the pay I found that Birchwood consistently paid over a $1 an hour more than other area nursing facilities. The facility is large and clean and full of activity during the day. The staff makes a huge effort to bring as many residents to the dining hall for each meal and has plenty of people available to serve and help feed the residents who need help eating. They actively check the amount of food eat

My name is James Bass when I first arrived at Birchwood of Beaumont but through the care I received from this nice nurse encouraging me and letting me know I was going to make it I now have life here at the Birchwood. The therapy department has been great they've been working me out everyday and I'm able to move around and do day-to-day activities thank you Birchwood

Birchwood is a great place. We've had to generations come through this facility, now my brother is here and I feel like mom is watching over him. They are very trust worthy and polite. They have a wonderful staff. I have been very pleased. Out of all the nursing homes, this by far is the best.

Only give 1 star because this place is terrible! The therapist are awesome, but if you do not have a medical background and can't truly stay on the staff , then please do not place your loved one here. I reported this facility to the state for several reasons. Most, not all, but most of the nurses are incompetent. The CNAs required training by the Physical Therapist on how to safely transfer my mother. Call light is not answered for hours, sometimes not at all. I would find my mother soaking wet with urine in the morning when I arrived. Her treatment for a bladder infection was delayed, she did not consistently receive the diet ordered for her, the phones are not answered, you cannot ever speak with anyone in management unless you physically go to the facility.
