My health care was good. Doctors and nurses were professional and kind. One concern was that most of the staff spoke in broken English and I had a hard time understanding them. I realize I was not their only patient but many times I waited 20 minutes or more before anyone answered my call button. And I used the call button mostly because my monitor was going off. Too long if I was having an emergency. The house keeping only took away trash. I had to ask for toilet paper. And instead of filling the locked dispenser she just put a roll on the sink. The toilet was never cleaned during my entire stay. The sink dripped and the faucet was loose. Admission day I was given towels. Discharge day those towels, which I’d put on the floor after hygiene use, and didn’t want someone else using by mist

Lucas Brain and Spine Center - new facility so inaugural staff, expecting best impression expectations. Staff friendly and available. Could have communicated timelines and goals better. End result the most important being medical diagnosis and treatment prescribed.

The first unit I was on was wonderful. The nurses and Mds. great. The seventh floor the night nurse you could not understand and she talked behind a mask. I waited 1 1/2 hrs for pain meds or for anyone to come in to help. The dayshift nurse never appeared till the 3rd call and I had been waiting for over 3 hrs for pain meds. That was the first she had laid eyes on me, she was there when the MD came in and when asked if I was getting around ok she looked at me then him and told him yes. How did she know when she had never seen me til 2 minutes prior. I was not happy with the care given that night and day. Thank God I was on the Surgical Waiting Unit till then. They have an amazing crew!!

I had a terrible fall and broke five ribs. The pain was immense. By the time I was life-flighted to St Vincent level 1 trauma care I had figured I wasn't going to make it. However over the next several days I got better, at least enough to know that I would get through this. There were many many dedicated professionals at St Vincent that helped me. Some went above and beyond. These include Eric, Mia, and Lauren from the ER and several of the upstairs nurses including Zuni, Matt, and especially Daisha. I hope you never have a situation like the one that I found myself in. But if you do I hope you can find your way to St Vincent. I am so very deeply grateful to these caring and kind professionals!

I've been pleased with the results I've seen on those I've known going into surgery and from the emergency room; but I'm lacking the expertise and sample size to say much more there. As a visitor, the staff was never anything but helpful towards me. One of the best staff tips I received was to look at every information sign, when trying to navigate to a specific hospital location for the first time.
