Ascend Pediatric Therapy

Emily is an amazing pediatric therapist who has extensive training in DMI therapy. She offers DMI intensives for families which is actually hard to find in the Idaho area/west coast. Some families might be concerned about crying during DMI sessions and while that can occur and is fairly normal even in traditional pediatric therapy, all of the sessions (9+) I have observed with miss emily as the therapist have been amazing. She connects with children and helps them progress without pushing them past their confidence level. The littles are mostly smiles during their sessions even though you can tell they are working so hard, as a Pediatric Physical Therapist without DMI training, I recommend Emily to families who are working on head control, getting into sitting on their own, standing, balan

We recently completed a 2-week DMI intensive with Emily for our son Charles, who has mild cerebral palsy, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience. Charles is 2.5, ambulatory but wears SMOs and has always been developmentally delayed. Before therapy, he fell constantly, had very poor balance, and could not do stairs even with assistance. He was also minimally verbal and lacked body awareness. After just two weeks with Emily, the difference has been incredible. He is now walking stairs unassisted for small distances and with support for longer, balancing so much better, and rarely falls. His overall coordination and confidence have improved dramatically. We just finished a 2 week DMI intensive with Emily and she is very knowledgeable and amazing to work with! My son is pretty complex and we have experienced many different intensive therapy programs and therapists over the years. Emily jumped right in and was comfortable with him on day 1 and it was evident she has experience working with children of all abilities!

We had the pleasure of being Emily's first family at Ascend Pediatric Therapy and our experience was everything we hoped for and more. Our Son was born premature and has had some challenges with walking, sitting, eating, etc. When we learned about DMI and Ascend, we jumped on the opportunity to work with Emily.
