I have had 4 sessions of Watsu with Lori Barbier. As a survivor of CPTSD, I find bodywork very helpful in releasing blocked emotional pain. The Watsu has guided me in building trust. Watsu is a form of massage done in an outside above the ground pool 4 feet deep and 15 feet in diameter. The water is heated and the pool is covered with a vinyl dome. Lori places floating aids under my neck, low back, and knees. She gives me wax ear plugs. There is relaxed floating in the pool, with some sensory deprivation. Lori then gives an hour or so massage while I bob in the water. She is careful to make sure my head is never submerged and she always keeps at least one hand on my body.
