My mother was experiencing chronic diarrhea and had been told by another physician that it was stress, poor nutrition and a nervous stomach. She lost 22lbs and was very weak and anemic. After insisting on seeing a GI specialist, we were introduced to Dr. Peery. She immediately mentioned microscopic colitis as a possible reason for the symptoms. After an upper and a lower endoscopy with biopsies it was confirmed she indeed had microscopic colitis. Dr. Peery prescribed a medication that stopped the diarrhea and other disorders. The proper diagnosis and medication changed my mother's life and gave her back her quality of life.
