Dr. Wawak is truly phenomenal. I brought in both of my dogs at the same time, one a senior dachshund (dexter) with an abscessed tooth, and the other a rescue mix breed canine (Henry) with a concern for a possible malignancy. From the moment she walked in, it was clear she was different from other providers I’ve given my business to in the span of my 25 years as a pet parent. She literally got down and sat on the floor with me as I tried to calm my dogs so she could examine them both. Moreover, she was personable, thorough, empathetic, and genuinely attentive to my concerns. She genuinely treated each of my dogs as if they were her own, never rushed, and explained everything clearly and thoughtfully, providing cost considerate options. This was my first visit to the Animal Hospital of Heath, and it was also my new kitten’s very first vet appointment. From the moment we arrived, my first impression of the Heath location was excellent. Everything went smoothly. All of my questions were answered, and I never felt rushed. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and proactive in sharing information about my kitten’s care and overall well-being. It was a great first experience, and my kitten is off to a wonderful start. 🐾

I have been to several vets over the years but this place is definitely my favorite and where we are happiest!! Love the staff! My dog seems more calm and less stressed and even our cat did well!

Our dog is a patient of the Heath Animal Hospital. We took her in for an ear infection yesterday. The doctor and entire staff were outstanding. This clinic is always out standing. Doctors and staff are friendly, professional and helpful every time we take our pooch there. They all appear to enjoy their work. Thank you.

Dr. Downes is an excellent vet whose genuine compassion for animals and vast knowledge is so apparent. She is very thorough and explains the diagnosis and options clearly. She and her team take the time to love on our dogs before and during examinations which make them almost excited to visit the vet. We always feel like our pups have the best possible care when they visit Dr Downes or any of the vets at the Animal Hospital of Heath or the Animal Hospital of Rowlett.
