Amsterdam Nursing Home

My mom has been at Amsterdam House for the past six weeks for a rehab assignment to get better mobility. Our experience with Amsterdam House has been very good. Lots of activities for the residents. Flexible visiting hours and easy sign in and sign out procedures. I’d like to highlight the excellence of the Administrative Staff, Brennan in Admissions, Tiki in Finance and Erin in Social Work. All dedicated and knowledgeable individuals who care about residents and their families. Security guards Jason and Patrick friendly and helpful. Lewis in PT also good. Some great people on 11th floor staff, including CNAs and Nurses. I may be missing some, but a special thanks to Diane Thompson, Akua, Amy, Zola, Rosie, Stephanie, Judy, Marsha and Doreen. It takes a special person to do these difficult

I am delighted to share that the staff at The Amsterdam Avenue Nursing Home is truly exceptional. They provide attentive care to my 80-year-old mother, and each member of the staff demonstrates a high level of professionalism. I am pleased that she has been able to benefit from the rehabilitation services offered at this facility.

I have mixed feelings about my experience at Amsterdam Rehab. I would like to acknowledge the excellent nursing care given to me by 1shift nurse Marcell, and the 2nd shift nurse Gerard.i was not in any condition to leave, but was discharged from the home because my insurance ran out.. My discharge summary falsely characterized my condition on discharge. I was not pain free. There was no PE prior to discharge. I was given a walker and wheelchair because I wasn’t able to complete PT due to sudden discharge. I was told I could appeal the decision. I chose not to because I felt that the administration was interested iin the money than my welfare. I would not recommend this home.

My Father made it to 105 there. In spite of the short staff and overworked and some uncaring staff. The medical staff was great, and got regular reports. Bit the support staff and security don't answer the phone. That goes the same for Finance and floor staff. I made my complaints to Moshe the Administrator. Ask for your Finance records.

I visited someone at Amsterdam House. Someone on the staff helped me with the computer issue to register my visit. I noticed very pleasant staff interactions and the person I was visiting had a lovely room that was clean and orderly. The bed was made as the person I was visiting didn’t need to be in bed all day and preferred to walk the halls with her walker to get exercise.
