AMMC Urgent Care

I am a veteran and was turned away at the front desk because the receptionist said I would have to have a referral from the VA to be seen. This is not true. I even called and verified that I did not need one and she still would not accept it.

Urgent Care can be a tough environment I imagine. Health care in general is over worked and underpaid. That does not excuse some of the behaviors within the AMMC Urgent care. I am extremely disappointed after my husband was seen and fully dismissed. The office is happy to take payment but the services rendered are near nonexistent. My husband was told 2 issues he came in for where non issues, or something other than what they actually were. Which this misdiagnosis/dismissal was debunked the next day when he was seen his PCP. I would consider finding another urgent care for anything that is not cold/flu related as they will not investigate it, or tell you it's something it's not instead of admitting they don't know. The receptionists were the most unprofessional I have ever met! The Dr I saw was wonderful but the check in was stressful.

Dr Wright was so professional and kind to my kiddo yesterday at Urgent Care . She took her time with him and showed compassion. We really liked her and may switch to her for our family Doctor. Thanks !

My mom went to urgent care because she is very sick and can hardly breathe, coughing bad and she has lung and heart conditions already and they listened to her lungs, told her she has pneumonia and that they would call in a prescription. They never sent in a prescription so she called the next day and had to wait for a call back. When they called back they told her they couldn't give her a prescription without her being seen by her pcp. So I don't know what good it is to have an urgent care if you can't even get a prescription for antibiotics for pneumonia. Hopefully she is okay until Monday.
