Altenburg Joint Replacement Surgery

Dr Altenburg is the by far the best surgeon/doctor I've ever interacted with. Having to have a knee replacement at a young age, he made me feel confident that if I had the surgery I'd be better than before. 10 weeks post op, and I'm glad I used him. Not only is he a great doctor, but he goes out of his way to keep you comfortable and to answer any questions you have pre and post-op. Because of him, I'm finally excited about my knee and eager to see how much better I feel when fully healed.

I can not say enough about the staff. Everyone is amazing. I had both knees replaced by Dr Altenburg. I am only 3 months out from the first one and 7weeks from the second. I feel like I could hike for miles. I can't imagine what I will accomplish after 12 weeks. Watch out Chuck Norris....

I was really scared going in for my first major surgery but Dr A and his team took it and had me all snug in my room in no time meaning I woke up and all done!!! He and his whole team know how to handle us patients with kid gloves and then some....thank you all for making it as comfortable as ya can!! Dr. Altenburg replaced both of my knees, two months apart. Of course there's some pain but I felt that it was pretty mild, compared to what I was expecting. Everyone I interacted with was super nice and easy to work with. The Dr. himself is very mild mannered and easy to talk with. He gave me much confidence to go ahead and have the replacements done. I was so impressed with his skill as my knee scars are pretty minimal and as I said, the pain was less than expected. He and his staff made sure I was doing okay within the first couple of days. He also recommends in-home nursing and physical therapy for the first two weeks, which makes it so nice. Dr. Altenburg did two surgeries on my left hip after I got infection in it. (Different doctor did first surgery which also left me with permanent nerve damage in my left foot) . It still isn’t perfect but pretty sure I’d be in a wheelchair if not for Dr. Altenburg. He also did my right hip two years ago and it’s been perfect. Came home the very next day. Other than some issues with antibiotics it’s been perfect from day one. Caring and compassionate doctor. I highly recommend him.
