AltaMed Urgent Care — West Covina

Went yesterday 2/5/26 like at 7pm and the receptionist guy was amazing and showed he cared about helping people. But the tall plus size nurses in the back that were checking me in were the most useless nurses I have ever delt with, I was having asthma issues that I hadn't had in 30 years and they were telling me they could schedule me a phone call visit with a Dr, I needed treatment not a phone call. They really didnt seem to care or even try. I left and went to the ER and was treated there and sent home with 2 prescriptions. So if you really need care then dont waste your time with Alta med urgent care and just go to the ER.

The doctors are good here but the nurses are by far some of the rudest I’ve EVER encountered. Been here 5 times and every time without fail it has been awful. I had a physical here and during the physical, one of the nurses walked in and blatantly laughed at me when she looked and my private parts and quickly left the room. Safe to say a lot of these girls haven’t grown out of high school. Will not be coming back.

Went to West Covina location twice. First time I went and said they couldn’t take me in as they had reached capacity at 8pm, they close at 9pm. Gave it a second chance another day and went at 7pm and also couldn’t take me in as they again had reached capacity once again!! Both times parking lot looked empty. Not sure how many patients it takes to reach capacity. They should advertise Urgent Care if they are not willing to take patients in when they are still “open”. P.S. went to Lakeside Urgent and got taken care of within 10 minutes.

I don't recommend the urgent care here. The waiting time is long, they are unwilling to prescribe medicine, and they asked me to make an appointment with a doctor in 3 months at the earliest, and then charged me up to $200.

I dont understand the low ratings !?? but it was our first time here and it was very fast. Dr was quick, efficent, and great bedside manners for my child 💯. Took about 30 min in total. All staff -from check-in to MA's were very kind and attentive . Excellent Urgent Care and will definetly be back and recommend. Clinic is being run very effectivly. Kudos to office/clinic managers. 👍
