My sincere advice to anyone considering this doctor is to find another orthopedic doctor. I had a five minute experience with this doctor to diagnose a simple fracture of a finger. I really felt rushed out so he can $collect$ the next patient. It would have been less time if I didn’t insist on getting a few questions answered. For this shabby and brief treatment, I was billed over $2000. I know part of the issue is that Montefiore (where he works) over bills and the insurance company passes the cost to the patient. But trust me that this doctor has no bedside manner, and is as responsible as Montefiore for this inflated bill.

Dr Gottesman is a brilliant and comprehensive doctor. He diagnosed my shoulder issue immediately, spent time answering my questions and eased my pain short term. Looking forward to follow up and long time solution. Would definitely trust Dr Gottesman with shoulder surgery.

I’m writing to express my disappointment with my visit to Dr. Alan Gotesman. I felt he was very lazy and careless during the examination, treating my issues as if they were silly. For any patient, the pain experienced is real, even if the presenting problem seems small to him—especially since I came in for a complex CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome) issue and a dislocating shoulder. What happened: - He focused on just one issue and dismissed the others. - He seemed in a hurry and rushed through the session. - He asked me to come back later instead of addressing my concerns in one visit. This experience left me feeling frustrated, not heard, and unsure about his professionalism. I do not recommend this doctor based on my encounter. The best Dr ever very kind caring honest friendly Dr I've ever had and he lets you decide what course of treatment you want when possible had 3 surgeries with Dr G and absolutely 100% better with them and these are 5 plus years ago if no longer very knowledgeable he knows his stuff will never go anywhere else

Very short wait, friendly and efficient office staff. Dr. Gottesman was also very nice, listened to our concerns and answered questions. Overall great experience.
