AFC Urgent Care Airmont

I scheduled an appointment on line ,prior to arrival. There were no other patients waiting to be seen, so wait time was instant. The space is pleasant. The Nurse Practioner, Heather, was a good listener and we actually had a nice conversation about another matter. Treatment for my symptoms was pretty straightforward , but did the trick. I have been to this AFC on several occasions and have been pleased with the experience. I recommend it as an urgent care facility.

The Airmont, NY location of Urgent Care is great. Very clean, able to schedule my same-day appointment online, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. From the reception desk to the doctor, an overall very positive experience. Considering how lousy I was feeling at the time, the review should likely get a handicap of 5.5 stars.

I saw PA Susan today. She was very thorough and took the time to listen to me and explained her findings and directions for my medications. I was very grateful to see how thorough and patient she was. I would definitely request her should I need to return.

While the staffs professionalism was good, especially on the blood draw, I was denied antibiotics for tick borne illness and told I was tested for every vector born illness. I was told the test would take 2-3 days, it took 10. In that time I was forced to go to the ER to acquire antibiotics. Glad I did because it turned out I have a rare tick borne illness. One that is known for the tick I found and informed them of. Yet I was not tested for, despite being told I was tested for "every" vector borne illness. Really disappointed in the direct ammount of misinformation I was given regarding my own health and such a serious issue. I made an appointment for 8:30 AM today only to find out the urgent care was not open when I got there. The staff was there but no provider so they left a note on the window and didn’t notify anyone with appointments. I had to take the entire morning off and the staff didn’t even apologize! I found the girl at the desk to be very rude and cold to myself and another very sick woman who went through exactly what I did. The provider was very patient and kind so I would like to let that be known. If the office staff would have notified people rather than putting a note written sloppily “Open at 9:50” I would have given a much better review. I’ve been to this urgent care many times and never experienced disorganization or such a rude staff member!
