ActiveKidz Therapy

I was referred to ActiveKidz Speech Therapy by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. When my son, Ardy, first started at ActiveKidz, he was nonverbal. After being with them for six months, the changes I’ve seen are amazing. He has begun to speak and has improved from about 10% intelligibility to nearly 70%. Would not recommended if you have a dysregulated sensory seeker. We signed up for speech and OT services. Speech started out great and was ok for a couple of weeks, OT was a challenge from the start and downhill from there. If you are looking for services to help with dysregulation and sensory seeking, look elsewhere. Not a good fit for our kid and unfortunately we waisted valuable time and money waiting on OT services that were not skilled in the area needed to address his needs. We did learn some things to support his speech which we will continue to use for our son’s development. If the goal is to service all kids on the spectrum more experienced staff probably would be ideal for ActiveKidz.

I cannot say enough good things about Active Kidz! The team truly goes above and beyond to ensure that every child receives the attention and support they need. Mrs. Ruth took the time to understand how my daughter learns best, and as a result, she has made incredible progress since working with her. Mrs. Mistee in the front office is always so helpful with answering questions or handling any scheduling conflicts we have. The level of care and personal attention they provide makes all the difference. Active Kidz doesn’t just see children as numbers – they invest in their growth and success. If you're looking for a dedicated and caring team, I highly recommend Active Kidz!

This place should be shut down! At least the one OT named Frederica shouldn’t have a license. She said she’d “physically restrain my son if he didn’t listen to her or do what she wanted.” All because he wouldn’t sit still for a small puzzle. I was also told I wasn’t allowed to be in there with him, which is a first. No OT has ever said that, in fact they encourage it. He has autism and doesn’t understand and she shouldn’t expect him to. Absolutely unacceptable. Hired an ATTORNEY and ceased all therapy appointments, even for speech with a different person. I will not tolerate a rude, hateful, NEGLIGENT person (who’s supposed to be a professional) towards my son.

So far, I’m not pleased. Babys Can’t Wait director herself recommended this place to me. I called and was kindly greeted and for a few calls over those next days a woman named Sharon helped me by giving me the information I needed and sending me the paperwork and me filling it out and sending it back and she was super communicative and kind. After getting started with her she told me my file would then be sent over to a woman named Danielle. It’s been a month and I havnt heard from this Danielle woman at all. They then told me they needed certain paperwork from Babys Can’t Wait to proceed, so I have been in contact with the director to get that certain paperwork, in the meantime I contacted, today, this facility and whoever the woman was who was on the phone told me then next person I’ll h
