York North Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

This place is horrible.I totally regret having to put my mother there. First off her area is filthy. Because my mother and her roommate are unable to use the bathroom. They just threw used bed pans, not cleaned. Trash nothing is wiped down . When I visit i don't even use it. They are so understaffed, and a lot of the staff that are worked to the bone are rude, disrespectful, condescending and just basically hating their jobs and taking it out on my mother. Now of course that's not all the staff. I've had issues with a few of the nurses at my mom's station.I have reached out to the head nurse who blows me off does not return phone calls and basically doesn't think anything is going on that needs to be addressed. And the food, oh my goodness, the food, something I wouldn't even feed my dog.

Family member was continental when they arrived however they insisted on putting pull-ups on them. Staff rude and ignore call lights. Food quality low. Menu choices were on a paper given daily and if you wanted alternate you had to tell them hours before. Staff did not help with this task. When requesting a call or information Noone knows anything and does not follow through. Double bill because the facility and corporate give you a bill. Physician groups lays bills at your bedside even with confused residents.

My father has been at York North for almost one year. He has recently moved from the rehab section to long term. The difference was nothing short of amazing. Jay runs a well ordered, caring floor. She and her staff are never too busy to help. While making sure her patients are as comfortable and well cared for as possible, she and her husband Tee always have a moment to chat and they make you feel like they are both there for all the right reasons. They even go so far as to make sure my mother (who visits every day) is eating and getting enough rest. Many, many thanks to Jay and her team for their efforts. Living full time in Florida it has really eased my mind with this last visit to know my father is being so well cared for and that my mother has people she can trust and depend on.

I did not stay here. I just visited. But meals are skimpy-if you have a loved one staying there, bring protein snacks for them. Also, my husband was supposed to have dressing changes twice/day, but he was lucky if they did a dressing change daily. He would tell the charge nurse & the attending doctor, but nothing at all would change. His roommate fell, so my husband put his call bell on, & it was 18 full minutes before someone answered it. Check out the pic of the portion sizes for a 58 yo male with a huge wound (needs at least 64gm of protein/day) & getting PT & OT (needs energy-not getting enough obviously)!! This looks like a kindergarten kid’s lunch!!! This SNF needs some work. I can’t wait to take my husband home!

This was my first time in this facility. I was visiting my neighbor. Security was good, the receptionist was friendly and professional.The place was really clean and bright, and didn’t smell like other facilities that I’ve been in.My friend appeared well cared for, and comfortable.
