Wynn Hospital Emergency Department

I came in through the ER for gallbladder issues and was admitted for surgery. After being admitted, I was left in a room with no real bed, no blanket, no pillow, no bed rails, and no call button. I was exhausted and in pain and felt completely unsafe. If I had fallen asleep, I could have easily fallen. They took a urine sample and then left it sitting on the table next to me. I asked several times for a blanket before I finally got one. No one came in to check on me for long stretches of time. My IV bag was completely empty and flat and no one noticed. A nurse came in during the night to check my vitals and told me the machine wasn’t working and that nothing works in this place and how much it sucks. I brought my son in because he was sick with a fever, cough, and runny nose. I waited in the waiting room for four hours and ten minutes, then I went to the nurse and spoke with her. She gave him a COVID-19 test and told me to wait in the waiting room. I waited another hour, then I went to a male nurse to talk to him about the long wait. He took some information from my paperwork. After that, I went to the treatment room and waited for 30 minutes. Then the nurse came and said that my son didn't need any treatment. After that, I went to the pharmacy to buy Tylenol for my son.

The process for checking in is idiotic at best. They make their sick patients constantly get up and down to go to various tests. Was waiting for my wife to be seen when she felt she was going to pass out (which she has done before so I know she’s serious) so I got up to go to the desk and they made her stand up and walk to them when they could have wheeled their stuff over to her. She almost fell on the way over, and was out cold the second I got her into the chair. Staff barely reacted, and one of them called someone to try to get her in a room but I guess the answer was no because they sent us back to our seats in the waiting room after she woke and her heart-rate went back up. This is the most useless emergency room. No kind of efficient method of getting anything done. Got called back by 4 different people. Had to give reason for visit all 4x like is there a chart or patient record something. Now been waiting for 4 hrs. On my death bed I NEVER want to come to Wynn. I would rather die at home.

I’ve visited the ER several times in the last two years due to aging parents. The staff is extremely professional, efficient and knowledgeable. We have not had to deal with long wait times for cardiac issues. The rooms are clean, cafeteria is decent.
