WNY Pediatric Gastroenterology

Dr Hashmi is very nice but there is a problem with the way this practice operates. Our appointment was for 10AM. We arrived at 9:50AM and waited until 10:35AM before I asked the receptionist how much longer it might be until we were seen. She said the Dr is running “a little behind”. The Dr did not see us until almost 11:15AM! That’s more than “a little behind”. The Dr explained that her colleague was out sick so she had to see all patients in addition to her own. I never write reviews but I feel this is important for potential patients to know. I see now that other reviews have also mentioned issues with long wait times so that shows this is not an isolated incident. This is clearly NOT how the practice should handle a Drs absence. It shows a level of disregard for patients and parents. I

2 stars are because we were able to get an appointment within weeks vs UR Pediatric Gastroenterology which was going to be 4 months wait. HOWEVER we have kept our UR appointment as we did not get very efficient care nor utilizing problem solving very well. My child's xrays, ultrasound and blood work had supposedly not been sent over at time of our appt with WNY. Even though the xray and ultrasound had been reviewed by pediatrician showing no kinks in intestines and no back up in bowels WNY stated My child was constpitated and ordered clean out to be done along with new stomach medication in AM on empty stomach. We did the clean out even though going was not an issue and we had been told by pediatrician that was all clear. We statted morning meds which made my child statt vomiting in mirnin

Extremely disappointed in this office. Dr. Gelfond came off extremely passive aggressive and inconsiderate, answered all my questions with “well if she’s gaining weight then i don’t care”, blamed me for not bringing in a dirty diaper for testing although I was never advised to do so, told me my appointment was useless, etc. I have never felt so bad after an appointment and left crying while my daughter continues to be in pain with her reflux. It’s no wonder why they have no wait list. I would never recommend anyone coming here for any reason unless you just want to get ridiculed. edit: also to like to add… doctor gave me samples of a hypoallergenic formula that expired december 2024… my appointment was in july of 2025... glad i checked

These people are the best! Dr Hashmi was wonderful in working with my son who was having bowel problems. She was kind, knowledgeable, not judgemental, and she listened to our concerns. We now have a very happy boy.

My daughter was a patient of Dr.Hasmi’s for almost 2 years. Dr. Hashmi is a compassionate, professional, extremely knowledgeable doctor who I highly recommend. I never felt rushed and she made sure to answer all of our questions. During an emergency, she followed up to make sure my daughter was doing well. Additionally, the portal is a great form of communication as well. This office is amazing!
