Winters Family Psychiatry

The doctor himself was okay but the staff were awful. I just got a new job where my schedule changed. I asked about availability as I work Sunday-Thursdays. Instead of a professional response she said looks like you need to find a new doctor sunshine. I have worked in the social work and mental health field for 15 years. I do not think that is a professional response. Also anytime my scripts were sent in sometimes the insurance would try and do a cheaper substitute she would call and say sorry we can’t do that without you coming in. This isn’t something one can control.

After creating a bond over years of seeing sharon winters they refused to reschedule me due to being incarcerated. I was found innocent of my charges and have difficulty moving on without my medication (xanax) . I have beèn unsuccessful in obtaining a doctor to prescribe me what I have been taking for 7 years aftrr multiple visits and thousands out of pocket and have ended up in the hospital twice in the last week alonefor panick attacks I'll be filing a lawsuit since there has been no reason given to me for not receiving future treatment.

Sad I didn’t get to meet the psychiatrists. I had issues with scheduling at work so I had to cancel my psych appointment 48 hours prior. When I called to cancel, I kept getting sent to voicemail so I left a message with all my info and informing them I’d be canceling. The next day I got a call while at work to confirm my appointment. I told the lady that I had left a voicemail informing them I was canceling the day before. The lady responded with “Oh really?” and proceeded to ask why I was canceling and tried to guilt me by saying the doctor would now not have anything to do for that hour. I asked if I could reschedule and she told me she’d have to ask the doctors if they still want to see me. This call left me in such distress I cried at work. Stay as far away as possible from this practice! You are required to pay a 55 dollar co-pay before even being seen. Since my insurance changed and they don’t accept it, they refuse to refund my money. I showed up to my appointment and let them know my insurance changed. I was told my money would be refunded. Then a get a phone call from an extremely rude woman named Susan who lied to me and told me that a voicemail was left that I needed to let them know 24 hours that my insurance changed. Still have the voicemail, nothing like that was said. She lied. When dealing with patients with mental health issues, you’d think the front desk people wouldn’t treat patients in this manner. Absolutely disgusting. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Susan hopefully you get yourself some

I rated this practice at two stars, despite Mrs. Winters being a fantastic psychiatrist, due to their NASTY receptionist. I have been being seen by this practice for over 3 years now, and despite having a great, understanding relationship with Mrs. Winters, I absolutely HATE coming here BECAUSE of the receptionist. Of the three years that I've been going to this practice, the receptionist has only be civil with me TWICE. I HATE coming in for appointments and I HATE calling this practice because of how unfriendly, discourteous, and purely NASTY this receptionist is. It's unfathomable how this woman is still employed in the medical field, she portrays herself is such a cold, nasty manner towards patients. She clearly shows that she HATES her job by how she treats those who PAY TO BE TREATED
