I had an amazing birth experience here. I was so worried, but my nurses did a great job and I was able to have my daughter naturally. I am so grateful for Amanda, Nancy, and Lucia. They made such a wonderful team. I also felt taken care of before and after my delivery by other nurses. Overall I am very happy with the care I received, and my baby is happy and healthy.
I’ve had a couple of appointments here over the years, but for the first time, I truly felt heard. During my visit, Dr. Taylor-Raconelli and her nurse, Sandra Mills, were incredibly kind, patient, and attentive with me from the moment I walked in. I originally came in for a specific testing procedure, but instead of focusing only on that, Dr. Taylor took the time to thoroughly review my medical file and ask thoughtful questions about my overall health. While I’ll keep those details private, I truly appreciated that she looked at the bigger picture and proactively addressed other concerns. She ultimately referred me to a specialist, which is something I’ve never experienced in my previous visits here. That level of care, attention, and compassion meant more to me than I can put into words
Last summer, I had a deeply negative experience with this hospital and with the military healthcare system as a whole. It began with a severe sore throat that quickly escalated. I was unable to sleep and eventually lost the ability to eat solid foods due to the pain. As it turned out, I was suffering from mononucleosis. I initially attempted to use the proper military medical channels by going to sick call with my unit. Unfortunately, this process failed immediately. My assigned military physician was on ETS leave, and I was told I would not be able to see anyone until he returned a month later. There appeared to be no continuity plan in place, and I was not offered the option to see another provider. At that point, I had no realistic access to care through my unit. Because my condition
I took my husband to ER on January 24 , my husband has congestive heart failure, blood clots , and copd , he was very sick and we had to see a PA , who totally did not want to deal with my husband, took Xray and diagnosed him with pneumonia. My husband is 73 years old, the PA said I am sending him home , I am his wife and I said no he needs to be admitted, this PA got quite vocal and he told me to bring him back and he might have a reason to admit him , I fought with this PA and he had him admitted to candler hospital. When he got to candler hospital, the admitting DR came to see him and said the Dr at Winn said you don’t need to be here. Your wife wanted you here , yes I did and good thing I did, when he arrived at candler he had to give blood and they did blood cultures, my husband has
DONT LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS! I had the BEST experience of my life at this hospital. I came in early pregnant, throwing up 16 times in 7 hours unable to keep anything down. They IMMEDIATELY saw me and put me in a room and every single person I had contact with was extremely kind. Miracle, was my nurse and she poked me once and got my vein and was super gentle while I was severely dehydrated. She checked in on me and when I pushed the call button, someone came in happy to help within a few minutes. Excellent bed side manners, professional and knowledgeable. My Dr explained all my options and let ME decide what I wanted to do. Left feeling better and with a much better outlook on this hospital.
