Williamstown Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

My mother came in to the rehab facility with a fractured back. She was there for 5 weeks and came out after 5 falls and a fractured humerus bone . Instead of improving she went completely backwards. She was neglected. Not to mention we ended up bringing in bottles of water for her because she had to beg for fresh water. The rooms are dirty the food was horrible . The care in this facility is severely lacking.

My sister was a resident for 5 weeks. She was on Fall Precautions due to falling at home and received a small fracture in the lumbar region. She went tto Williamstown Common for rehabilitation. She has fallen 4 times at this facility, once falling out of bed and once she had fallen in physical therapy with a gait belt on. The therapist was standing a few feet away. She was sent to the emergency department , the xray showed a right humerus fracture. When she returned to this facility at night she fell out of bed for the fourth and final time. We will never send her back there or any of our family members!

My mom is in the rehab facility and i must commend each and every person in contact with our family. EVERYONE is kind, respectful, efficient and professional from the chief administrator on down. My father was brought here after a hospital stay for complications from his illness. He has a rare form of Parkinson's; progressive supranuclear palsy and that is something out of their capabilities. He has limited speech in addition to all other motor functions. I understand that places like this are always underfunded, understaffed, and have limited resources but there are some unforgivable critiques I have. In those two months I called many times, and I got mixed information on his transfer options. Not once did anyone mention his bed sores. I made arrangements to get out there, far for me and I have a new baby. He said he was in pain from the sores. My mother has recently been transferred to Williamstown Commons from North Adams Hospital. She has 4 broken ribs from a fall and has been diagnosed with Covid. The protocol in the hospital was after 5 days without a fever or any other symptoms she was considered no longer contagious. The protocol at the nursing home is still apparently 10 days. As a result, we had to argue with them for her to be able to get a shower. They don't want to move her out of her room for 10 days. So for 10 days, she won't receive the physical therapy she went there for in the first place. They have been incredibly lax in providing her with all of the meds she is on and as a result, she needs to go through her meds every time to make sure she's getting what's been prescribed for her.
