Great First Visit with Oakdale Family Dental...I've had several issues with my two front teeth and have been to other dentists to determine a course of action. They all were very quick to say they needed to pull the teeth and do implants. Dr. Pomerantz spent some time and explained other options to me that would allow me to keep my teeth. So, on my first visit he made some immediate improvements and I am going back to determine what else can be done, short of pulling them. The main point and the reason I liked him is that he listened to me and understood my concerns and desires. It felt good to be heard. I was thankful for that and I look forward to going back to Dr. Pomerantz to continue treatment.

I got a cavity filled at this office and then a few months later they called my parents saying that we owe $700. They said that they told me multiple times that they don’t take the insurance (before the cavity was filled) but that was not true. I am 24 years old and would realize that the money would be out of pocket if not covered by insurance. The day I left the office after getting the cavity filled I vividly remember asking the woman at the front desk if I owe anything and she said “no, it is covered by insurance but we will call if there are any issues”. The whole thing was handled very poorly on their part. I would not have gotten the work done at this specific office if I knew it would $700 out of pocket. This dentist told me specifically that x-rays showed no decay under a filling, and that discoloration of the surrounding area was due to the filling and not decay. This was a lie. A second opinion from a different office said there was zero chance that this joker didn't see the significant decay under the filling. The delay in care meant I had to have the tooth extracted. If you care about your teeth and don't like getting ripped off avoid this place at all costs.

I must say that Dr. Pomerantz is second to none. He is the most patient and caring dentist one could be treated by. At a time where I was struggling, he stood by my side until the job was completed. Patience is a virtue... Don't want to leave out his staff, hygienist, assistant and Fran at the front desk. I truly recommend Dr. Pomerantz for any of ones dental needs. I’ve been going to Dr. Pomerantz for many years now and he is always been very patient and gentle and takes the time to explain things before he does them to ensure I have the best painless experience possible. This along with his wonderful, caring staff and modern technology helps to reduce my fears and anxiety associated with going to the dentist.
