West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital Emergency

Horrible wait times. 2 hours post triage and had to get a patient advocate to finally get us a room. I showed her the triage area and how dirty it was coffee cups on equipment, ekg pads all over the floor. Papers with patents info laying on the floor, wrinkled paper that had not been changed. The patient came nurse just shrugged it off and said " we have been busy" An absolute nightmare. There was about 12 people still waiting to get seen when we finally got called back. The NP came in and told us they were running her labs, yet all 6 tubes of blood were still setting in the room with us. Then a nurse came in and said " I told you twice I was taking care of it" we will drive to Nashville before we ever come back here again. DISGUSTING!!! MOST DISGUSTING HOSPITAL I'VE SEEN IN MY LIFETIME. Sitting in the ER for about 3 hours now "waiting" for test results trying not to vomit because the room we are in smells like urine and extremely unsanitary. I went to use the restroom.... that was a joke. Piss on the toilet seat and dried blood all over. I cannot believe this hospital is open to public. You're at a greater risk of catching an illness or disease by being in this so called HOSPITAL. Calling the Health Department and whoever else I need to call to report this HORROR! Update- 20 mins later. I asked the staff, 4 different people if they had disinfectant spray to spray in our room, the staff could not find any. I was on the 2 ND floor for breathing problems,they took the best care of me. The nurses were great and nurse Obi needs a raise he went above and beyond to make me comfortable. Who ever his boss is he deserves recognition. The Dr we're awesome too. Thank you guys for the care I was given. Thanks Rita Kahill room 271

Who sends a 92 year old female patient home without a brief? In fact they sent my mother home wearing no underwear. Who does this? I was told that there were students being trained there to help release the patients. Who are we training? What have we become? This goes without saying, common sense is not common anymore. So after my mother gets home and she tells me she needs to go to the bathroom and I tell her to just go in her brief. Once my caregiver gets to my house. 30 minutes later she informs me that My mother has no brief or any other undergarment. Such a lack of respect for our elderly. It is a sad, sad world we live in!! We are all going to get old one day and you people in the healthcare business need to ask yourself, is that the care you would want?

We had a Great Experience at this hospital. My husband was there with COPD flare, for 6 days. Everyone was Great to him. The food was good and good portions. The staff is very attentive
