Rigid policies over children’s health WellBeing Pediatrics enforces strict rules without applying the same respect or flexibility to their own patients. I was made to wait at least 40 minutes past appointment times, yet they refused to see my one-year-old over being exactly 15 minutes late. This was the first time I was late, and their response shows a lack of coherence and priority for patient care. Because of their decision, my child—already delayed on vaccines due to limited provider availability—missed her 12-month immunizations and we were forced to scramble for another provider. A pediatric practice that truly cares should place children’s health above inflexible policies. WellBeing Pediatrics chose bureaucracy over common sense.

Well being peds is so thorough and always gets my daughter in immediately when she is sick and needs to be seen ASAP. I highly recommend their services in Ithaca.

My children have been with Carolyn Koppel NP and Dr. Jessica Casey since 2013, when they were with a different practice, and we valued their care so much we followed them to their new practice on Third Street. I am so impressed with the new facility! It’s such a fun place for my children to play while waiting for their exam, and the colors are more inviting than your average sterile office. Occasionally we need to see a different practitioner, and have had continued excellence of care with Dr. Dan, NP Andrea, and other staff members. The practitioners are kind, take their time evaluating my children, and aren’t afraid to refer out if they think my child would benefit from it. WellBeing is a fantastic practice where every practitioner has shown care and attention for my two young children. I can’t say enough good things about the entire staff—they are attentive, knowledgeable, responsive, and show care for the physical and emotional well-being of my children every time I see them. Their messaging app is especially useful as you can get responses from nurses day-of with any sort of question. I’d recommend this practice to any parent.

We have been so pleased with the care our kids have received at Wellbeing. In addition to all the standard metrics a parent might use (short wait times, providers who talk to you and don’t talk down to you and trust your instincts, very clean office, and same and Saturday sick appointments) there are so many other things that make this office excellent. For us, that’s their consent-based exams for kids where the doctor makes sure to explain what/why they are doing everything, a practice incorporating a wholistic understanding of health where systemic determinants to health are explicitly discussed and acknowledged, and a commitment to the wider community and expanding access to health education, food, and supplies. We love this practice!
