Walgreens Pharmacy

There is at least one issue with filling my prescription every month. Certain prescriptions require “review” every month for some reason, and they won’t fill these unless I call them and ask them to do it. However, they almost never answer the phone, even after being on hold for more than an hour. So, I often have to visit this pharmacy twice, once to ask them to fill it and another time to pick it up. I never had these issues with CVS.

I want to preface that this took place the day before Thanksgiving and I work in a hospital, so I fully understand and anticipate the pharmacy to possibly be busier than usual. However, being kept on hold for 2hrs and to be seemingly transferred and taken off hold only to be placed back on hold numerous times throughout the wait is extremely concerning and frustrating. I was trying to call in for an urgent refill request for an elderly loved one. I was working from home, so I was hoping to call the pharmacy to make the request and then, to pick up the medication around 2:30pm. (Note: Rx was on hold, so I couldn't use the request a refill option, which I tried initially, but the automated machine said that the pharmacy team would need to reach out to the MD office. Pharmacy staff is attentive to customer needs and provides advice regarding prescriptions. They occasionally contact customers about refill reminders.

DO NOT have your medications sent to this pharmacy anymore. This pharmacy used to be basically fine, but something must have changed, because now they literally don't answer the phone and there's a very good chance they just simply won't process your medication even after the doctor's office orders it multiple times. I have tried waiting on hold for up to **half an hour** with no answer. They even HUNG UP on my doctor!!!! DO NOT have your medications sent to this pharmacy.

Incompetent and dumb. They do not answer the phone. Waited 40 mins to finally get an answer and they just immediately hung up the call without saying a word.
