Walgreens Pharmacy

Luna Rajo (probably gave my parents a fake name) refused to fill a diuretic prescription for my father who just got out of the hospital and needs his medication. She used to work at the regular cashier counter, but now is behind the pharmacy counter. My dad was hospitalized for 2 months! My parents called ahead, a male pharmacist said to come in 2 hours. When they arrived, Luna refused to give them the Rx. Pharmacist was rude and unhelpful, said the medication prescription was too high. My parents just asked for an emergency supply for a day or two while waiting for the doctor to get back. They called the hospital social worker, but the pharmacist still refused because they need to speak to the doctor directly. Walgreen’s clerk endangers customer relations to save Walgreens a nickel. I watched the clerk sell a very easygoing young man a bag for his purchases. Walgreens charges 5 cents for a bag. The man says the bag may not hold the heavy items and requests a second bag. The clerk says that will cost another 5 cents. And that’s not all! For the second bag and the nickel for Walgreens, the clerk needs to reprocess all the items. People delayed in line, people watching this crazy scene. Me, not returning any time soon.

Recently switched from CVS to Walgreens because I moved, but it may be worth the extra 3 miles to go back to my old CVS. I used Walgreens decades ago when I lived in Florida and really liked them. Here in Long Island I’ve always used CVS but was initially happy to switch. I’ve been disappointed ever since. Unlike CVS, when I call The pharmacist, Walgreens is difficult to get to, they are rushed and don’t really want to answer my questions, and didn’t give advice that made sense to me. For example, I was scheduling a vaccine and they told me the appointments were weeks out but I could walk in the next day but I would be prepared to wait at least an hour in the store and I couldn’t leave even if I feared exposure to other people; I couldn’t even wait in my car. I experienced the worst service ever from this pharmacy this morning. There was no line and I was the first one there with four people working behind the counter. Not only did they want to help me at the opening 10:00 am, they were very rude and completely unprofessional. Pharmacist called my doctor in front of me and was VERY unprofessional to her as well. Completely rude completely disgusting and I will never fill a prescription there again!!!! 35 minutes later I got my eye drops again with no line.
