VSI Physical Therapy (VTFC)

I had 2 therapists named Melanie Gonzaga and Jason Arnett. Melanie helped me right after I injured my knee. She was very friendly/smiley, patient, and answered all my questions, and short like me(so relatable). Both Melanie and Jason helped me strengthen and prepare for ACL reconstruction surgery. Jason made physical therapy super fun. He is very outgoing, great sense of humor, and very charismatic or as the Gen Alpha would say, “has lots of rizz” haha. I super highly recommend Melanie Gonzaga and Jason Arnett. VSI facility is nice and open space with great equipment. The receptionists could have been extra friendly(they reached the minimum of customer service skills), but that is okay cuz Melanie and Jason make up for the receptionists lacking “rizz”. I work in healthcare and have worked closely with many PTs and I can honestly say Melissa is the best physical therapist I have ever worked with. I first saw her 2 weeks after a disc replacement (through VSI, by the amazing Dr. Jazini) and she explained her plan for me and what my expectations should be. She was thorough and even helped me better understand any setbacks that can naturally happen after such a surgery. Most importantly she knew what days to push me and what days to encourage me. Healing is not linear and Melissa was supportive in every step of the way. One thing that one should not overlook is if you are a post-op patient the therapists work directly with your surgeon to maximize your results. Larry is a top level therapist and I recommend him to anyone including competitive athletes. Larry worked with me immediately after my back surgery and provided a detailed program to get me back to training quickly and safely. Further Larry designed a program to address the reason that caused my back to require surgical intervention. Larry provided hands on treatment that in my opinion, made all the difference. Larry took the time to explain what what happening during every phase of the healing process and what to expect next. Larry’s detailed professional knowledge, competence and exceptional skill combined with his ability to connect with people in an informative and disarming manner make him the go-to therapist in the DMV.

Great team of PTs in a calming environment and nice space. Larry and team do a fantastic job, are well educated and dedicated professionals. I have had three therapists and all are skilled at determining the best way to address my issues. They are hands on and give you 100 percent attention during session! They also have a lot more modalities they can use than most PT shops like water therapy, laser, etc..Congrats to the whole team at VSI. I have had rehab at other major ortho institutions, like Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, and they are superior to those institutions. Keep up the good work!

My experience with VSI Physical Therapy and Larry Grine was great. I came in 4 days after bilateral Bertolotti's surgery. The first day of treatment I was still very swollen and sore and a little discouraged. The initial treatment already had me feeling more comfortable, mobile, stable and optimistic and that continued to improve each appointment. I visited daily for 5 days straight and feel that week sped up my initial recovery at least 2-3x as fast as would have been without it. Each day was thorough and built on the therapy and education on key movements and exercises in a well paced manner. Knowing they are readily available for remote consultation if I have any issues or wanting enhanced exercise routine go forward is also encouraging. I certainly appreciate all they did for me to get
