Vitalant Blood Donation- Merced

I would strongly recommend using a different blood donation provider. It was like the dollar store of blood donation companies. I regularly donate blood and have never looked like I look now. My arm looks like I am a drug addict and is swollen at the injection site. The injection itself actually hurt and I have never had that happen before with the most recognized blood donation company in the USA that I normally go to. The staff was rude as well. Just skip this place and go somewhere else.

I have been donating for years at Merced’s Vitalant Blood Donation Center. I have nothing but respect for the Staff at this location. Maria, Tony, Shura, and Brenda are well trained, friendly, professional, and will always check up and ask how you are doing while you are donating and they are ready to help schedule your next donating appointment after you are finished. The snacks/drinks are always well stocked and you can sit and chat with other donors. The Staff takes the time to get to know each donor with friendly and sincere conversation. I continue to return, as so many other donors do, so hopefully my donation will help someone in need but also because it feels like family each time I arrive.

I only came in due to getting extra credit to donate with proof of slip. Due to my life long medical conditions I am unable to donate. They were very nice to me and didn’t make me feel bad for not being able to donate. They gave me a slip to hand to my teacher stating I can’t donate. The facility looked really clean and organized, staff very nice and professional, there were plentiful of snacks.

I've donated blood at several sites and this is by far the best! The staff is very attentive and works hard to make the donation process comfortable and easy. I was thanked multiple times throughout the process. And the snacks are delicious.
